Press release distribution websites allow the user to gain mass exposure in a quick, efficient, and cost-effective manner, even for free.

The Internet, through years of innovation and trial and error, has managed to significantly cut expenses in the marketing/promotion budgets of all sorts of businesses and organizations. Many of these Internet-based advertising solutions are even free.

One of these solutions is the online press release.

A number of websites across the Internet are solely devoted to featuring press releases that individuals, businesses, and organizations from all over the map submit to them. Because these sites are continuously fed with so much rich and diverse content as the result of featuring nothing but press releases, they are extremely well-catalogued by search engines and receive impressive amounts of traffic around the clock.

Best of all, submitting a press release to one of these high-traffic websites can be free.

Two of the more well-known press release distribution websites are I-Newswire and PRWeb.

I-Newswire allows the user to publish a free press release on its site. For an upgrade of $25, the press release comes with additional features such as yellow highlighting, no ads within the release (the free release contains ads to help cover bandwidth costs), logo inclusion, and the opportunity to reach over 2,500 journalists through an IFPA (Independent Free Papers of America) mailing, among other extras. In either case, whether the user opts for the free press release or chooses the $25 one, s/he can rest assured that it will receive a large audience.

PRWeb requires the user to set up an account, which is free, but publishing a press release can cost anywhere between $80-360 depending on which one of four packages the user opts for. For that money, however, features far more advanced than what I-Newswire offers are available to the user, such as the ability to post video or attach documents or photos to the release.

Though having a website is not required to publish a press release on one of these sites, it is undoubtedly beneficial to have one, as they allow the user to include his/her website address in the release, thereby ensuring increased traffic to his/her site.

In closing, press release distribution websites are a terrific way to greatly increase exposure of one's business or organization and website in a quick and cost-effective manner, even for free. These sites are part of an ever growing arsenal of fast, easy, and affordable Internet marketing solutions that are revolutionizing the way businesses and organizations conduct their marketing/promotion efforts. The amount of people that can be reached through a strategy such as this is virtually endless.
