Application of internet has reached a new level when a professional baseball team line up was decided with the fans voting on the internet.
Schaumburg Flyers from Illinois playing in a minor league lost their 12th straight game much to the embarassment of their fans. Manager Andy McCauley decides to change things drastically. He opts for popular opinion on the internet. Chicago Tribune reports that the manager's idea to incorporate fans' vote is a stupid idea. One of the suggestions goes this way - "An outfielder who often bats last is leading off. The second spot, usually reserved for a hitter who runs well and gets on base often, is occupied by a big catcher who does neither. The slugger who normally bats fourth is dropped to sixth." This is an excellent example to portray the usefulness of internet in our day to day lives. But the big question still remains unanswered. What about the integrity? If every decision made is public knowledge and popular vote, will there be any integrity left in a team or any other company for that matter?
