Once that it is determined that the computer is able to run Hulu, and Web or desktop viewing has been chosen, videos are immediately available or a Hulu account may be opened. Hulu does not require the creation of an account, but by signing up, one has access to a queue, show subscriptions, discussion boards and mature content. Visit the signup page for further information, or to begin the signup process.

How to Use Hulu

Closed captioning is offered on many videos, for those with hearing issues or who just prefer to watch in silence. To activate, click on the "cc" button, that is located to the left of the volume control.

To protect a child from mature content, Hulu requires that they be over the age of 18, in order to sign up. A parent is able to prevent the viewing of this content, by signing out of their account, when they are not able to supervise the use of the computer or Hulu.

A queue feature is available in which to store favorite videos. Tips and tricks, to using the queue, are as follows:

  1. During your search for single videos, click the (+) mark, which is found below the queue heading, and it will be added. For automatic show additions to a queue, locate the subscribe link, which can be found below the video offering.
  2. To play a video from the queue, click the queue link at the top of any page, and then click on the chosen video. When you are finished watching the video, it will be removed from the queue. Locate it once again by going to the profile link and then to the history link.
  3. Choose the subscription alert for Hulu to notify you when a new show has been added to the queue. An expiration alert may be chosen for notification that a video in your queue is about to expire.
  4. Modify the play order by choosing the arrow tool or changing the number box to read the order that is desired. Manually click the update order button, after changing the number.
  5. The title and information button will change the way the queue is sorted.
