Online Black Friday Ads Lure ShoppersFive Things to Remember on the Biggest Shopping Day of the Year
Black Friday is traditionally known as the shopping day that pulls retailers out of the red and into the black, and is the day to snag high demand items for cheap prices.
The unofficial first shopping day of the Christmas season draws thousands of people out into the throngs of diehard shoppers on the hunt for that $89 digital camera or that $29 digital photo frame. Black Friday AdsSome stores release their Black Friday (or BF) ads early to draw more customers, and some big name stores – including Sears – just released their ad a few days prior to Halloween. But others – like retail giant Wal-Mart – attempt to keep their ads a secret until the last minute and threaten legal action against any Web site that publishes their ad early. Black Friday Shopping Tips
As the ads are released shoppers should go through and mark items they plan to purchase. They should also make a list of the items they want to buy and take the list with them the day of shopping. Creating a game plan is just as important as going skimming the ads. Shoppers should create an agenda so they won't get overwhelmed as they try to hit the high points on their lists. They should list the stores they are going to and what they intend to buy there. Shoppers should also make sure they include a break about midway on their agenda to drop items off at home. Shoppers shouldn’t cart around their treasures in their cars all day, as shoplifters often prey on victims’ cars. Take items home where they’ll be safe. Shoppers should carry a reloadable Visa card so they don’t have to carry cash. Carrying large amounts of cash is an accident waiting to happen. It could get stolen, dropped or worse yet, they could spend a lot more than they planned to. BF shoppers should enlist the help of a friend or relative to be a shopping buddy. They can help each other snag those coveted high demand items and there’s always safety in numbers. If consumers plan to venture out during pre-dawn hours to join the crowds, they should remember to have fun and shop smart on Black Friday.
