Everyone has a favorite online shopping website, but not everyone knows about other sites that aggregate prices from across the web for the best deals.

Comparing the cost of an item among a number of retailers to get the best deal would be great, but who has the time to bounce from store to store? That’s the idea behind a growing number of shopping websites that compare items from sellers across the web. Before heading out the door or surfing the web, check out these sites for some great deals and discounts.

PriceGrabber

“Comparison shopping beyond compare” is this website’s trademarked motto. Search for products by keyword, category, most popular, or hot deals. Once the desired item is found, click the link to go to the product’s description page. All online merchants selling the item are listed, along with comparative pricing information. In the right hand column, notice the words, “Your Best Price” above the lowest cost listing, then read product and seller reviews.

Click the orange Go button to go to the seller’s description page. Look over the offer, read reviews, check shipping costs, then make the purchase. Registration on the site is required, and allows users to write reviews, create personalized lists, and receive PriceGrabber’s newsletter and special promotions. Also be sure to check out rebates, coupons, Deal of the Day, and the eco-friendly Shop Green page.

Shopping.com

Shopping.com makes it easy to compare costs before making a purchase. On the left side of the home page, click a category to go to the search results page. Click the desired product to go to its description page, then sort by Price (Low to High). Upon finding the best deal, click the Visit Store button to the right of the item to go to the third party seller’s website. Registration is optional but allows shoppers to share opinions and receive updates.

Epinions

The main thrust of Epinions is the ability to share opinions on consumer products. However, the site is also handy for comparing costs among a variety of online retailers. Type the name of the item into the Find reviews on: field, then click Search. At the top of the right-hand column, click Sort by Average Price, locate the desired item, then click the Compare Prices button to the right of the description to see the online retailer offering the lowest price.

BizRate

BizRate bills itself as an easy to use shopping and comparison website, and indeed the site could not be simpler. Just type the item into the What are you shopping for? field at the top of the page, then click Find it to view a complete listing. Sort by Price Low-High, find the desired product, then click Go to Store to make the purchase.

NexTag, Amazon, and Price.com are three more sites handy for comparing the cost of goods before purchasing. Before cracking open the wallet, give PriceGrabber, Shopping.com, Epinions, and BizRate a close look. Remember to read product reviews, and even get coupons and rebates. Great deals are to be had – don’t miss out.

For price comparison in general i use www.priceant.com I know lots of people use other more famous websites...but i'm especially attached to this one because of its simple interface. You go in, type in your search and there it is.
My second best is www.pocketdeal.com. This one i use for thew latest deals. Same as the one before, it makes me feel comfortable using it. It's simple, and they have price comparison on every products they post. They practically combine a deal website with a price comparison website. It's pretty smart.
